President Buhari Assures Niger Delta of Better Days Ahead

306

President Muhammadu Buhari has given assurance to the people of the Niger Delta region that better must come stating that he will deliver on his campaign promises to transform lives and the landscape of the region.

“I assure you we’ll not abuse trust. The programs mentioned here about development of Niger Delta will be taken more seriously. I expect you to please cooperate and vote APC from top to bottom, he said at the All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential campaign held at Warri, Delta state.

He assured the people that under his leadership the interest of the government would be to serve Nigeria and get them to live and work together for the upliftment of the nation.

He noted that God has blessed the country with people and resources, adding the people should realize it, thank God and come together to work for the country.

He further assured that the fundamental objectives his government identified and campaigned upon in 2015 are still relevant, noting that the country has to be secured to be properly managed, which in turns means doing well in the economy.

President Buhari decried that the region has been neglected for far too long In terms of infrastructural development for the region.

“We have turned to agriculture and industry. Massively God has helped us. The previous rainy seasons, two of them were at least good and we were able to achieve virtually food security as a nation. A lot of young people have been mobilized; they have access to land. The sad point is corruption. I assure you that all those that have fraudulently enriched themselves where are entrusted with public funds we’ll eventually get them and deal with them. We are doing it; we will continue to do it.”
