Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on arrival from Dubai after weeks of Vacation was searched manually by a combined team of the Nigerian Customs, Army, Police, and Immigration immediately he disembarked from his aircraft, according to reports from Abuja on Sunday.
The PDP presidential candidate clothes and personal effects were thoroughly searched during the operation.
The senator representing Bayelsa East constituency at the National Assembly, Ben Murray-Bruce, has condemned what he alleged as “reckless harassment” of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, on his twitter page.
” Alhaji Atiku submitted himself to the search, although as a Presidential candidate of a major party, he is supposed to be protected by the Nigerian government, the same privilege given to Buhari from 2003 to 2015 elections, said  the Hope For Nigeria group.
” The security team used video recording devices during the sting operation and Atiku was allowed to leave the airport, the group said.
“Nigeria is not a fascist state. We will not return to a jackboot dictatorship. This government should face Atiku at the polls, not with force, the group said.
