President Donald Trump is giving Nigerians a glimpse of the fury raging inside him as he reviewed a meeting between him and President Muhammadu Buhari at the White House in Washington.

Trump, known for his disdain towards Africa, referred to his Nigerian counterpart Muhammadu Buhari as “lifeless” shortly after a meeting between the two leaders on April 30, Financial Times said on Monday.

Trump said he never wanted to meet someone as lifeless as Buhari again, Financial Times reported citing three persons familiar with the matter.

In his Rose Garden press conference with Buhari, Trump pointedly did not deny calling African nations “shithole countries” earlier this year, in widely reported comments made during a meeting in the Oval Office—and he also didn’t apologize for them. Instead  he dug in, saying of Africa that “you do have some countries that are in very bad shape and very tough places to live in.”

President Donald Trump was swiftly rebuked by some African experts in Washington over the comments.

Speaking over the phone with Per Second News, Mr Tom Altwater, described the comment as shameful and disgraceful.

With the latest report,  it could now be concluded that there is probably not much hope for the continent under Trump.
