[dropcap]F[/dropcap]our suicide bombers struck Wednesday in the Muna Garage district of Maiduguri, killing at least 10 and injuring dozens more.

“We have so far recorded 10 people’s deaths and about 30 victims injured,” said Bello Dambatta, a spokesman for the State Emergency Agency (SEMA).

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the latest attack, which emergency officials and members of government-approved vigilante group  said was carried out by four female bombers  about 06:00 p.m.

Local residents who rushed to the scene to help the victims were overcome with anger and started chanting, “Death to Boko Haram”, a reference to the terrorist sect which has staged attacks in the region.

At least 221 people have been killed in bombings and gun attacks in the northeast region since June 2017.
