Abubakar Muhammad Guri, a Deputy Commissioner of Police with the Police Mobile Force (MPF) headquarters in Abuja, has reportedly slumped and died in his office.

Guri suddenly collapsed and passed away upon entering his office at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters in Abuja, on Monday, without displaying any prior symptoms or indications of illness.

According to Persecondnews, a staff member said the late DCP had dressed in his uniform before he suddenly slumped in his chair and was immediately rushed for medical attention, where he was pronounced dead.

The source said: “Some officers rushed him to the hospital, and even before reaching there, he had already passed away.

“We are now arranging for his burial, whether here in Abuja or his hometown.

“He is a good man. He might have been fasting when he died. May Allah forgive him and make Jannatul Firdaus his final abode.”

A sombre mood enveloped the national police headquarters following the sudden passing of Guri.

The police had not released an official statement as of press time, pending notification of the family and burial arrangements.
