Nigeria’s political terrain has witnessed a shifting following Governor Seyi Makinde’s official entry into the 2027 presidential race.
Speaking at a “Unity Rally” held to formalize a new alliance between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All People’s Movement (APM), the Oyo State Governor urged opposition leaders to unite against the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he accused of steering the nation toward a one-party system.
Makinde argued that true democracy is impossible without a level playing field free from ruling-party interference.
He further challenged Nigerians to abandon political apathy, asserting that active citizen participation is the only way to achieve a “historic reset” in the 2027 elections.
