Ademola Lookman’s rejection of a new contract offer from Atalanta has sent a clear message: the 27-year-old is determined to join Inter Milan.

According to reports, Lookman turned down a lucrative deal worth €5 million net per season, a bid by Atalanta to keep him at the club.

However, the player’s desire to join the Nerazzurri remains unwavering, and his decision has given Inter a crucial transfer boost.

Atalanta’s CEO Luca Percassi on Wednesday, has shed more light on the situation, revealing that Lookman has long been seeking to leave the club.

“Lookman wants to leave since a long time ago,” Percassi stated. “We have a proposal from Inter, but it’s us deciding the timing and valuation for our own players.

“We have a good relationship, and we will consider the proposal with our timing.”

Percassi’s comments suggest that while Atalanta is open to negotiations, they will dictate the terms of any potential deal.
