The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has significantly upgraded its arms management and security infrastructure with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art containerized armoury.

This essential facility was generously donated by the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) International.

The handover ceremony, which took place today, June 17, 2025, at the Command Headquarters, saw the attendance of key senior security stakeholders and development partners.

According to a statement by SP Josephine Adeh, the command’s spokesperson, sent to Persecondnews, the modern facility – constructed in line with international best practices – is designed to enhance the safe and secure storage of arms and ammunition.

It provides improved safeguards against unauthorised access, accidental discharge and arms mishandling, contributing meaningfully to public safety and national security.

Representing the Inspector-General of Police at the event, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Armament, Isyaku Mohammed, commended MAG International for its support to the Nigeria Police Force.

He observed that the armoury will significantly enhance the Command’s capacity to manage arms professionally, transparently and in accordance with global standards.

AIG. Mohammed underscored the need for sustained collaboration between the NPF and MAG International in the shared pursuit of peace, safety, and national development.

FCT Police Commissioner Ajao S. Adewale expressed his deep appreciation to the IGP and MAG International for the strategic intervention and reiterated the Command’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in arms accountability and operational effectiveness.
