The Osun State female football team has sealed a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing National Sports Festival, Gateway Games, being hosted by Ogun State after thrashing their counterparts from Benue State 6-1.

The match, which showcased the dominance of Team Osun, saw Asha Omolola score a brace to lift her team to a comfortable win.

The match kicked off with a bang, as Doyin Adepoju netted the opening goal in the second minute, according to Persecondnews correspondent covering the games.

Robiat Taofeek doubled the lead in the 13th minute, giving Team Osun a comfortable 2-0 advantage at halftime.

Team Osun continued their scoring spree in the second half, adding four more goals.

Victory Odanlumen started the flurry, followed by two more goals from Omolola and one from Rukayat Ariyo.

This dominant win marks Team Osun’s second consecutive victory, and they now await the confirmation of their semi-final opponents after the group stage concludes.

Their performance thus far highlights their strength and determination as they aim to continue their winning streak in the tournament.

With their focus on the final, Team Osun appears eager to maintain their momentum and make a strong push for the championship.
