The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to national unity and fair representation in appointments, dismissing claims of lopsidedness in the composition of federal appointments.

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) in a statement on Friday noted that all appointments are made in strict adherence to the federal character principle, as enshrined in Section 14 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999.

The statement reads: “President Bola Tinubu believes strongly in the unity of Nigeria and is guided by the ideals of fairness and justice in all appointments.

“The current administration is dedicated to ensuring that all regions and demographics are adequately represented in its institutions and agencies, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

The OSGF urged the public to disregard unfounded speculations and rely on official government sources for accurate information.

“The government remains committed to its pursuit of a prosperous, united, and equitable Nigeria.

“Inquiries regarding federal appointments can be channeled through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, which serves as the official custodian of such information,” the statement added.
