Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the only surviving Nigerian side in the 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship, has crashed out of the tournament after losing 3-0 to Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in the round of 16.

The match saw KCB dominate from start to finish, winning the sets 25-19, 25-17, and 25-17.

NCS initially started well, but KCB soon overtook and dominated most of the first set.

The Kenyan side’s serving pressure caused unforced errors from NCS, and despite a fervent fight back from the Nigerians, KCB’s lead was too much to overcome.

They won the set 25-19, setting the tone for the rest of the match.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with KCB’s movement and synergy leaving NCS struggling to keep up.

The Kenyans led 11-4 early on, and NCS’s fragile defense led to more trouble as KCB pushed on confidently to win the set 25-17.

The third set saw KCB maintain their dominance, winning 25-17 and securing a clean 3-0 sweep.

Persecondnews reports that despite the loss, NCS received strong home support and plenty of cheers as they said goodbye to the championship.

The team will now play in the classification matches, a bittersweet end to their tournament run.

The exit of NCS marks the end of Nigerian representation in the championship, following the earlier crash-out of Nigeria’s Chief Naval Spikers.
