Litto VC of Cameroun made it through to the last eight in the ongoing African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Abuja on Tuesday following their 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-17) over Chief Naval of Staff of Nigeria.

Persecondnews reports that the match was electrifying, with both teams engaging in thrilling rallies and aggressive serves that left spectators on the edge of their seats.

The intensity was palpable as players battled for every point, showcasing their exceptional skills and determination.

In the end, LTV’s precision and power paid off, as they delivered a stunning super spike at set point, securing a 25-22 win.

Kimora Ayuk of Litto VC on Tuesday shared her thoughts on their victory in an exclusive chat with Persecondnews correspondent at MKO Abiola Stadium, venue of the championship.

According to Ayuk, her team capitalized on the poor serving from their opponents, Spikers, to take the game out of reach of the Nigerians.

“We won the game because of the little details we took advantage of, the loss of service and bad reception from our opponents played to our advantage,” she said.

Ayuk expressed confidence that her team could have won 3-0 but for a slight loss of concentration, which allowed their opponents to take a set.

She revealed that their coach had set a clear target to win 3-0 before the game, emphasizing the team’s focus on achieving a decisive victory.

“We could have won 3-0, but due to slight lost of concentration we gave them a set, before the game in the dressing room the coach told us to win by 3-0,” Ayuk added.

It was much closer in the beginning of the 2nd set as LTV came out narrowly on top.

However, quick attacks and well-crafted blocks helped them to extend lead as CNS pulled closer.

A monster block from CNS showed their fighting spirit, but LTV closed the set out 25-18.

CNS piled on the pressure and LTV seemed to run out of steam, good spiking and an ace helped to give CNS an 14-7 lead.

CNS was on fire and an unfortunate LTV fault at the end of the set gives CNS the win in the third set 25-18.

The 4th set was a high-stakes showdown, with CNS determined to level the match and LTV fighting to secure a coveted spot in the quarterfinals.

In the end, LTV’s unwavering spirit paid off, as they claimed a decisive 25-18 set win, sealing a 3-1 match victory.
