President Bola Tinubu resumed duty today after a two-week vacation, kicking off his day with a meeting with Mr. Zacch Adedeji, the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The meeting marks the president’s first official engagement since his return
from vacation in the UK and France.

The presidency, in a statement released on Monday on X, underscored Nigeria’s resilience and tenacity.

“We are Nigerians – resilient and tenacious. We always prevail and rise above our circumstances. We must all believe in our nation’s promise.

“The road ahead may be challenging, but we will continue to forge a path toward a brighter future with the support of all Nigerians. Together, we can!”

President Tinubu appointed Zacch Adedeji, a renowned accountant and financial expert, as Acting Executive Chairman of FIRS in September 2023.

Adedeji boasts an impressive profile, having served as Special Adviser to the President on Revenue, Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State, and Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council.

His expertise is expected to play a crucial role in shaping Nigeria’s economic policies.

Today’s meeting between President Tinubu and Chairman Adedeji is expected to focus on strategic revenue generation and economic development initiatives, aligning with the president’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria.

Persecondnews recalls that Tinubu arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 7:20 p.m. on Saturday evening.

The President departed Abuja for the two-week working vacation on Wednesday, October 2, as part of his annual leave.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement said: “President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja today (October 2) for the United Kingdom to begin a two-week vacation, part of his yearly leave.

“He will use the two weeks as a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.
He will return to the country after the leave expires.”

According to Ibrahim Kabir Masari, his Senior Special Assistant on Political and Other Matters, President Tinubu left the UK for Paris, France, on October 11 for an important engagement.
