The People’s Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF) has made a passionate appeal to feuding members of the party to revert to the status quo.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who also serves as chairman of the forum, issued the directive following a meeting of the governors that was concluded in the early hours of Tuesday.

Mohammed said that as a political party, the PDP was bound to have disputes among members, but that those challenges can always be resolved.

He said: “There is no crisis. The Governors, BoT, and the National Assembly caucus have agreed that the NWC should revert to status quo.”

Mohammed declared the nullification of all the suspensions.

Persecondnews reports that in the early hours of Friday, October 11, the National Working Committee (NWC), led by acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, suspended National Legal Adviser Mr. Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN) and National Publicity Secretary Mr. Debo Ologunagba for alleged anti-party activities.

According to a statement from Ologunagba, another faction of the NWC suspended Amb. Umar Damagum and National Secretary Sen. Sam Anyanwu for similar reasons shortly thereafter.

Ologunagba’s integrity faction of the PDP went further to appoint Alhaji Yayari Ahmed Mohammed as its acting national chairman, following the suspension of Damagum.

Also, a Federal High Court in Abuja issued an order restraining the NEC and BoT of the party from removing Damagum as the party’s acting national chairman.

Justice Peter Lifu ordered that no other person must be recognized as PDP national chairman other than Damagum until the national convention of the party is scheduled for December 2025.
