Alleged N27bln fraud: Ex-Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku, in EFCC net

A former Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, has been arrested in connection with an alleged N27 billion fraud.

The early hours of Friday reportedly saw the arrest of Ishaku, the governor from 2015 to 2023, at his Abuja residence and has been taken into EFCC custody in Abuja.

Ishaku’s arrest followed a covert investigation that has been ongoing since he left office in May 2023, Persecondnews gathered.

Investigators claim they have uncovered substantial evidence linking the former governor to various financial improprieties during his tenure.

Already, a 15-count charge has been prepared against him for his arraignment in court in the upcoming days.

The EFCC spokesman, Mr. Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest of the former Taraba governor but did not give details.
