My brain tumour story—Bisola Badmus

485

Nollywood star Bisola Badmus has opened up about her difficult and emotional three-year battle with a brain tumour.

The actress, known for her dynamic performances in Yoruba movies, shared her personal story in an emotional video with fellow actor Kunle Afod, revealing the serious challenges she has faced while dealing with the life-threatening illness.

In the heartbreaking video, Badmus disclosed that the tumour had affected her ability to recognise people or even speak at one point.

“For the past three years, I have been battling a brain tumour. It got to a stage where I couldn’t say anything or recognise anyone,” the actress said, her voice breaking as she recounted her struggles.

Despite these terrifying symptoms, Badmus shared that she has been on medication, and her condition is slowly improving.

“I have been using drugs, and I am getting better,” she added.

The actress also revealed the immense emotional toll her illness has taken on her.

She speculated that her brain tumour was caused by excessive stress and emotional burden, a reflection of the deep challenges she has faced in recent years.

“What causes brain tumours is too much thinking,” she said, hinting at the emotional strain that may have contributed to her condition.

Recall that the actress revealed, during her birthday celebration some years ago, that she had been quietly battling encephalopathy, a debilitating brain disorder, and described it as one of the toughest periods of her life.

In a deeply personal message, she admitted, “I wouldn’t wish this illness on my worst enemy.”

Her journey became even more difficult after losing her mother in January of the previous year.

The actress, who had always been close to her family, marked her mother’s 40-day remembrance in March.

The ceremony was filled with emotion as Badmus reflected on the tremendous pain she and her siblings endured.

“It has been the most painful experience for us, but we have no one to question,” she shared.

The sorrow in her life didn’t end there. Just two years prior, the Yoruba actress had to endure the heartbreak of losing her brother.

In an Instagram post at the time, Badmus announced his death but chose not to disclose the cause, writing that her brother had departed from the “sinful world.”

The string of losses, combined with her own health battles, has added layers of emotional complexity to her life.

Despite these overwhelming challenges, Bisola Badmus has continued to remain strong and focused on her recovery.

Her honesty and vulnerability have touched the hearts of many, as her fans and fellow celebrities have rallied around her, offering prayers and support during these difficult times.
