Nigerian governors in crucial meeting over constitutional amendment, healthcare, others

Nigerian governors are currently meeting inside the State House Conference Center, Abuja.

 

The meeting, which is being chaired by Zamfara State Governor, Abdulazeez Yari, is meant to get briefing from the constitutional amendment committee headed by Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, Per Second News gathered Wednesday night.

The forum will also discuss health agenda for 2018 which is to get the commitment of Governors to universal health care coverage, polio eradication and nutrition among others.

The meeting is which is the first Nigeria’ Forum of Governors (NGF) for 2018 started at 9pm.

Those in attendance as at the time of filing this report, Borno, Kashim Shettima, Ebony, Dave Umahi, Edo, Godwin Obaseki, Kano Umar Ganduje, Jigawa, Ibrahim Hassan, Plateau Simon Lalong, Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu, Delta, Ifeanyi Okowa, Kwara, Abdulfatah Ahmed, kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai, Akwa Ibom, Udom Emmanuel and Gombe, Ibrahim Dankwanbo.

The deputy governors in attendance are Anambra, Dr. Nkem Okeke, Benue, Benson Abounu, Yobe, Abubakar Alli, Imo,  Eze Madumere, Osun, Titi Laoye-Tomori, Rivers Ipalibo Banigo, Ogun, Yetunde Onanuga and Enugu, Cecelia Ezeilo.

Others are deputy governors of Niger, Katsina, Ekiti, Lagos, Sokoto and Bauchi.
