Abuja – Four female suicide bombers on Wednesday at about 5:05pmexploded their Improvise Explosives Device killing ten people and injuring 65 others.
This is as the joint Emergency Response Team of the Red Cross, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (BOSEMA) moved in to attend to the injured and dead people.
A statement by the spokesman of NEMA, North East Zone, Abdulkadir Ibrahim explained that the incident occurred around Muna Garage along Mafa Dikwa Road in Maiduguri, Borno state.
Ibrahim said the joint rescue team responded to 65 injured people who were given first aid and transported to hospitals and confirmed that 10 people lost their lives.
The NEMA spokesman said that preliminary reports indicate that four female suicide bombers were responsible for the blast which took place at about 17.05 on Wednesday, adding that further details of the incident would be provided by security agencies.
