Minimum wage: FG, labour meet June 4

The Tuesday meeting will be the eighth session of the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage since its inauguration by the Federal Government.

The Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage and representatives of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, June 4, in the morning to continue negotiations on it and address the ongoing strike.

The Tuesday meeting will be the eighth session of the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage since its inauguration by the Federal Government.

A letter of invitation by the committee reads: “I respectfully invite you to attend the 8th meeting of the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage scheduled for Tuesday, 4th June 2024 at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Area 11, Abuja. Time is 10 a.m. prompt.”

The Secretary of the tripartite committee, Ekpo Nta, said that there will be a Zoom link for key stakeholders that may be away to Geneva, Switzerland, for the ongoing International Labour Conference (ILC).

Nta added that they will review the previous meeting’s proceedings and present a preliminary agenda for the upcoming 8th meeting for consideration.
