Cubana Chief Priest arraigned in Lagos, gets N10m bail after pleading not guilty

Businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, was on Wednesday arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of a Federal High Court, Lagos, just as he entered a not guilty plea to the charges brought against him.

He was, however, admitted to a bail of N10 million in addition to two sureties in like sum.

Persecondnews reports that the popular bartender is facing a three-count charge bordering on abuse of naira for allegedly spraying and tampering with the naira at a social event, contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He was alleged to have sprayed the naira on February 13, 2024 at Eko Hotel.

Cubana Chief Priest was said to have also committed the offences while dancing during a social event.

Specifically, he was said to have tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 notes issued by the CBN by spraying the same for two hours.
