The Defence Headquarters has declared eight people wanted over the recent killing of 17 military personnel in Okuama community, Delta State.
The military authorities released the list on Thursday at a briefing in Abuja.
Those declared wanted are Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur; Andaowei Dennis Bakriri; Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (a.k.a. Amagben); Akata Malawa David; Sinclear Oliki; Clement Ikolo Ogenerukeywe; Reuben Baru; and Igoli Ebi.
Persecondnews had reported that on March 14, 17 military personnel, comprising a lieutenant colonel, two majors, one captain, and 13 soldiers, were murdered while on a peacekeeping mission at Okuama community, a community in Delta Stateโs Ughelli South Local Government Area.
The soldiers and officers were reported to have been deployed from the 181 Amphibious Battalion in the Deltaโs Bomadi Local Government Area.
The slain soldiers were buried yesterday, March 27, at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja.
Persecondnews reports that unlike other past Nigerian presidents, Tinubu attended the burial of the soldiers, where he extended scholarships to the children of the 17 soldiers and gave the deceased soldiers national honours.
The government will provide housing for the families of the military personnel, he added.
