As Nigerians continue to lament the hike in petrol price amid the fear that a new electricity tariff will take effect on July 1, actress Kate Henshaw has urged public officeholders to also cut down on their excesses and flamboyant lifestyles.
Henshaw made this known on Monday evening when she reacted to the news of the proposed hike in electricity tariff, saying Nigerians are currently dealing with a lot in their hands.
She observed that the last increment in electricity tariff yielded no result as the national grid collapsed multiple times after then.
She added that Nigerians are yet to get over the hike in price of fuel with another hike in tariff about to be added to it, wondering when Nigerians will be allowed to breathe and rest.
“People are spending tons of money sourcing for alternatives to power just their homes.
“The hike in tariff can’t precede everyone getting a pre-paid meter. That estimated billing is totally absurd to say the least!!”
She asked: “When will we hear of ✂️ of excesses from those meant to serve??”
