INEC, EFCC hire SANs, 16 other lawyers to prosecute 2023 electoral offenders

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) have jointly hired a team of 18 lawyers to prosecute those who committee electoral offences during the February 25 and March 11 polls.

The two bodies announced the appointments of two Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) to lead the legal team.

The 18 lawyers – all legal officers of both INEC and the EFCC – will prosecute electoral offences relating to financial crimes arising from the 2023 general elections.
