“We won the election and we will prove it, and reclaim our mandate”, Peter Obi the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, said in Abuja on Thursday.

He told a news conference that his supporters should be calm while he explores all peaceful and legal ways to reclaim their stolen mandate.

“The rascality and illegality of the electoral process will be challenged in court. I will challenge this rascality for the future of the country,” Obi said.

The Labour Party presidential flag bearer in the February 25 poll berated INEC for spending billions and conducting election that is below standard.

“Is this what we spent billions to do? We should have used that billions to do something else and announce what we announced,” he said.

The former Governor of Anambra State assured the youths and Nigerians that he will walk with them through this dark time to challenge the structure of criminality.

“We will explore all legal and peaceful options to reclaim our mandate. We won the election and we will prove it to Nigerians. We have to go through this darkness. The structure of criminality can’t go out overnight.

“All we need to show is commitment and resilience. I will be at the forefront and will work through this darkness until daybreak.

“That structure of criminality can’t go away overnight, structure of destruction can’t go way overnight, structure that has created one hundred & thirty-three billion people living in multidimensional poverty can’t go away overnight.

“We have been asked to go to the courts let’s go there. Remember that I am obedient, I am going to go where I am directed to go.

“It is my belief that for you to answer your excellency, the process through which you arrive to office must be excellent,”Persecondnews quotes the 61-year-old Obi as saying.

At about 4.10am on Wednesday March 1, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, had declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress winner of the presidential election.

Tinubu, who polled 8,794,726 defeated his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party who scored 6,984,520 while the Labour Party’s Peter Obi got 6,101,533.
