The Federal Capital Territory Police Command says it has arrested 15 suspects in connection with the killing of Ahmad Usman, a member of vigilance group in the Lugbe area on Saturday, June 4.

The arrest of the suspects followed ongoing investigations into the circumstances that led to the killing of 30-year-old Usman, according to a statement by the command’s spokeswoman, DSP Josephine Adeh.

The statement, however, did not give details of the suspects’ identities.

In less than two months, two Nigerians had been gruesomely murdered over alleged blasphemous statements.

Deborah Samuel, a student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, was stoned and roasted in May, while the killing and roasting of Usman in Lugbe, a suburb of FCT, has also left tongues wagging, all in the name of religion, Persecondnews recalls.

Soon after the heinous crime, the Police Commissioner in charge of FCT Command, Mr Babaji Sunday, assured that police would get to the root of the matter and bring all the perpetrators to book.

The Commissioner urged members of the public to remain vigilant, eschew any form of violence and report any act that can threaten lives and peace in their areas.
