The Super Eagles’ Captain, Ahmed Musa, is set to return to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Kano Pillars, reports Persecondnews.

The 28-year-old is itching to join Kano Pillars FC on a flexible short-term deal as he is yet to land a foreign team.

Persecondnews learnt that the transfer is practically completed and only a few details are left to iron out.

Musa has remained without a club since he left Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia in October 2020.

Persecondnews reports that this has been affecting his position in the national team.

For instance, when he was invited to the Eagles camp for the two last AFCON Qualifications against Benin Republic and Lesotho, his call-up received wild condemnation from the fans.

The Technical Manager of Super Eagles’, Gernet Rohr was attacked for inviting an “inactive” player, but he later defended himself that the move was to assist him secure another contract abroad.

Hence, a return to Pillars could rejuvenate his career.

Musa spent three years playing for the Kano club before his first European sojourn in VVV-Venlo.

Ahead of the 2018 Russia World Cup, Musa was a key figure in Eagles’ line up having been the arrow head of CSK Moscow FC attack.

But today, the Eagles’ speed star is a “wandering” player in search of any team to serve as a platform in order to be relevant.
