Breaking: Buhari assents 2021 Appropriation Bill of N13.58trn

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday initialled the 2021 Appropriation Bill of N13.58 trillion.

The National Assembly had jacked up the budget by N505, 607,317,942 from N13, 082, 420, 568,233 presented by Buhari on October 8, 2020.

The president signed the bill at a brief ceremony at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja, witnessed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila and Secretary to Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha.

Others are the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, and Presidential aides.

Persecondnews reports that the National Assembly had on December 21, 2020, passed the 2021 Appropriation Bill of  N13, 588, 027,886, 175 trillion.

It contains Capital Supplementation of N1,060,751,051,650 and total Capital Expenditure of N4,125,149,354,222, while Statutory Transfer stands at N496,528,471,273.

The bill also has Recurrent Expenditure profile of N5,641,970,060,680 and Gross Domestic Product growth rate of 3.00 per cent.

The National Assembly also approved  N3,324,380,000 trillion for debt servicing.
