Following public reaction to his recent remarriage, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya of the Fountain of Life Church, Lagos, has addressed his critics, emphasizing that those who haven’t made sacrifices in his life have no right to judge his personal choices.

The senior pastor shared the statement on his Instagram Story on Monday—just a day after officially introducing his new wife, Pastor Mo Jasyme, to his Ilupeju congregation during Sunday service.

“If you cannot die for me, don’t pressure me. And if you did not die for me, you cannot condemn me,” the message read.

Although Odukoya did not mention anyone by name, the post was widely interpreted as a response to the mixed reactions that have followed his marriage announcement.

The pastor’s remarriage became public on Sunday when he formally presented Mo to the congregation as his wife and the church’s new First Lady.

Explaining his decision, Odukoya told the congregation that he had been navigating life alone since assuming leadership of the church following the death of his father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, in 2023.

He subsequently invited his wife to join him on the altar, where she was welcomed by the congregation.

The announcement generated excitement among some members of the public, who congratulated the couple and wished them well in their new journey.

However, others questioned the development, with some raising concerns about the cleric’s remarriage and the couple’s appearance.

Delta State media aide Ossai Ovie was among those who publicly criticised the couple, expressing displeasure over Odukoya’s earring and his wife’s nose ring, which he considered inappropriate for Christians.

His comments added to the debate surrounding the marriage, with other social media users defending the pastor and questioning why his personal decision had become a subject of public condemnation.

Odukoya was previously married to Oluwakemi Sade Banjoko, popularly known as Kemi Odukoya.

They married in London in March 2013 and have two children together. Their marriage later ended, although the circumstances surrounding their separation have not been made public.

His new wife, Mo Jasyme, is a designer and creative entrepreneur who was previously married to British-Nigerian music producer Mosadoluwa Adegboye, popularly known as itsMOSA.

During Sunday’s service, Pastor Tunde Bakare, General Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, prayed for the couple and blessed their union.
