A star-studded lineup of Nollywood icons and Fuji music legends has joined the APC Lagos State campaign Council ahead of the 2027 polls.
Veterans and stars such as Jide Kosoko, Toyin Abraham, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola, Pasuma, Obesere, and Adewale Ayuba are among the 33 figures appointed to the newly unveiled Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, as announced by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre on Thursday.
The council is scheduled to be inaugurated on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
Under the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, Toke Benson-Awoyinka has been named Director, while Kosoko will serve as Co-Director and Badmus as Deputy Director.
Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, was named Secretary of the directorate, with Dare Olateju as Assistant Secretary.
The list brings together prominent figures from the Yoruba film industry, including Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri and Tayo Sobola.
The Fuji music community also has a strong presence, with Pasuma, Obesere and Ayuba joined by Sulaimon Alao Adekunle, popularly known as Malaika; Akorede Babatunde Okunola, known as Osupa; and Temitope Adekunle, popularly known as Small Doctor.
Other members of the 33-person directorate include Abiola Adebayo, Remi Oshodi, Foluke Daramola, Kikelomo Balogun, Bopo Oyekan Ismaila, Rasaq Yusuf, Aderinola Philips, Olamide Maja and Abbey Lanre.
The list also includes Tayo Sobola, Sule Adiro Ataweye, Yemisi Falaye, Leke Babatunde Akinrowo, Kayode Fahm and Aruna Ishola.
The Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate is one of several directorates established under the Lagos APC Campaign Council as the party begins preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is listed as Chairman of the campaign council, while Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat is named Deputy Chairman.
Former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode are also listed among the council’s leadership.
The formal inauguration of the campaign council is expected to take place on Friday at the party’s state secretariat in Ikeja.
