Kehinde Adegbodu, an Ibadan-based gospel singer, has raised alarm following a distressing attack on his family home by suspected armed men, further deepening the family’s grief after a recent loss.
In a viral video circulating on Facebook, Adegbodu emotionally recounted how the assailants invaded their residence and demanded valuables, including money, phones, and other personal belongings.
He disclosed that he was in Osogbo at the time the incident occurred, leaving his family vulnerable when the armed men, said to be four in number, reportedly stormed the house.
According to him, the attackers specifically asked after him and forced their way into his room, where they carted away several valuables believed to belong to him.
The gunmen were said to have encountered his wife, children, and the wife of his late twin brother, Taiwo Adegbodu, who is still mourning her husband’s death, making the situation even more traumatic for the household.
The attack reportedly occurred just days after the burial of his twin brother, compounding the emotional strain on the family during an already difficult period.
Recounting the incident, Adegbodu said, “I was not at home, I was in Osogbo when they came. They asked of me directly and went straight to my room.
“They took my valuables and left my family in fear. My wife, my children and my late brother’s wife were all in the house.”
The singer voiced deep concern over the targeted nature of the raid, noting that the intruders appeared to have prior knowledge of his home.
In a video appeal, he called on security agencies and the public for assistance.
Meanwhile, the incident has sparked widespread outrage across Nigeria, with many fans describing the attack as both heartbreaking and a chilling reminder of rising insecurity.
