For allegedly physically assaulting a Chief Magistrate, Mrs.Temitope Alphonso, the Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Seun Osamaye, is to arrested and remanded in prison on the orders of an Akure Magistrates’ Court.

The incident reportedly occurred at the Ministry’s premises while the Magistrate was on official duty, allegedly triggered by a court judgment that dissatisfied the Commissioner.

During Wednesday’s proceedings, defence counsel A.K. Adewusi attempted to stall the case, claiming Osamaye was hospitalized in Ilara-Mokin.

However, Magistrate Damilola Sekoni rejected the presented medical report, labeling it “unsatisfactory”.

She pointed out that the document lacked specific admission details.

Magistrate Sekoni, citing a blatant disregard (contempt) for the court,
ordered Osamaye’s detention in a correctional facility in Akure.

Hearing in the case has been adjourned until January 12, 2026
