AFCON 2025: 11 in Super Eagles Camp in Cairo With Latest Arrival, Zaidu Sanusi

Talented FC Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi has landed in Cairo, Egypt, significantly increasing the number of Super Eagles players present for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations training camp.

Persecondnews reports that his arrival raises the current attendance to 11, with 12 more players anticipated to join the squad today, Monday, December 15.

A key player in Nigeria’s squad, Sanusi was part of the team that finished second at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire and also featured in the squad that lost to DR Congo in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoffs.

His experience will be valuable to the team as they prepare for the tournament.

The Super Eagles will hold their first training session on Monday at 8pm local time inside the main bowl of the Cairo International Stadium.

The team is looking strong, with players like Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Ademola Lookman already in camp.
