Nigeria’s elite boxers are primed to make a bold statement at the inaugural African Boxing Elite Championships in Nairobi, Kenya, running from October 15 to October 28, 2026.
The contingent will contest 10 weight categories, with five male and five female athletes determined to leave a lasting mark on the continental stage.
A total of 19 delegates will travel with the team, underscoring Nigeria’s commitment to developing elite boxing and boosting its profile across Africa.
Team Nigeria is jetting off on Tuesday, giving the squad plenty of time to settle in and get game-ready before the opening bell.
It’s a massive opportunity for our boxers to go toe-to-toe with the continent’s elite, pick up crucial international experience, and put the depth of Nigerian talent on full display.
Sending off the team, the National Sports Commission rallied behind the athletes, challenging them to fly the flag high with their trademark discipline, grit, and excellence in Kenya.
