Tragedy in Osun: One Killed, 7 Injured as Trailer Rams into APC Campaign Procession

A tragic accident claimed one life and left seven others injured on Wednesday when a trailer ploughed into an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign procession in Ede, Osun State.

The incident happened in the Oke Gada area of the town during a campaign walk organized for the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

According to eyewitnesses, the trailer suddenly veered off course and crashed into the crowd of party supporters.

The driver of the vehicle reportedly claimed the accident was caused by brake failure.

The injured victims were quickly rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency medical treatment.

The Director of Media and Information of the APC in the state, Mr Kola Olabisi, confirmed the incident, noting that full details were yet to reach the party secretariat.

He said the party had dispatched a team to ascertain the actual cause of the accident and would provide further information upon conclusion of its findings.

Agnes Ogungbemi, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun, confirmed that the command has yet to receive an official report on the crash.
