It’s Evident In My Life That I Know God — Nancy Isime

Actress and media personality Nancy Isime has addressed growing conversations about her faith, declaring that her relationship with God remains strong despite criticism and assumptions made by some members of the public.

Speaking at the Service of Songs held in honour of the late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, Isime said many of those who question her spirituality do not truly know her, stressing that the evidence of her faith can be seen in the life she lives.

The actress noted that public perception is often shaped by limited information, adding that people who genuinely know her understand the values and principles that guide her daily life.

“I know the relationship I have with God, and it is evident in my life that I know God. You can’t look at my life now and say otherwise,” she said firmly while responding to questions about her faith.

According to Isime, criticism is an unavoidable part of life, especially for public figures whose actions are constantly scrutinised by people who may not have access to the full picture.

She pointed out that even Jesus Christ faced criticism despite dedicating His life to serving others, saying it would be unrealistic to expect universal approval from everyone.

“Even when Jesus was alive, some people criticised Him for simply minding His business and doing what He was sent to do. So criticism is something that will always exist,” she said.

The actress maintained that she remains focused on her purpose and personal growth rather than allowing negative opinions to distract her from what truly matters.

Isime also reflected on the realities of building a successful career, explaining that long-term success requires much more than talent and hard work alone.

According to her, sustaining relevance and excellence in any profession demands discipline, consistency, resilience, faith and the ability to navigate challenges that are often hidden from public view.

“Having a trajectory in your field goes beyond talent and hard work. There is so much that goes into building a career and sustaining it over time,” she said.

Turning her attention to the late Ekubo, Isime described him as a remarkable individual whose impact extended far beyond his professional accomplishments.

She urged mourners and fans to focus on the positive legacy he left behind rather than becoming consumed by grief.

“He was a great man. Instead of dwelling only on the fact that he is gone, we should also celebrate the lives he touched, the impact he made and the memories he left with so many people. That is what truly matters,” she said.
