President Bola Tinubu on Monday swore in Mr. Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs during a brief ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The new appointments follow the recent resignation of at least two ministers ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections in May 2026.
According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the event took place at the Council Chamber and was attended by senior government officials and the ministers’ spouses.
Tegbe and Enikanolaiye were nominated on May 5 and promptly screened and confirmed by the Senate the following day.
They are the second set of ministers inducted into the Federal Executive Council since the president directed all ministers with  political ambitions to resign ahead of the party primaries.Politics
Enikanolaiye, a seasoned diplomat from Igbagun, Kogi State, brings 35 years of experience in Nigeria’s foreign service.

He retired as Permanent Secretary in 2017 and is a recipient of multiple national honours, including the Presidential Civil Service Merit Award.
Tegbe, born in Ibadan, Oyo State, holds a First Class degree in Civil Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University and advanced degrees in Business and Public Administration from Switzerland and the University of Birmingham.

Persecondnews recalls that Tinubu’s cabinet has seen at least 12 reshuffles since its historic launch on August 21, 2023, when 45 ministers were sworn in during the largest single-day inauguration since 1999.
Monday’s ceremony marks the latest strategic update to the Federal Executive Council.
