Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has publicly called out her estranged husband, Freddie Leonard, urging him to appear in court for their ongoing divorce proceedings.

Additionally, she claimed that he has consistently evaded all attempts to legally finalize their separation.

Persecondnews reports that the actress took to social media to express her frustration, alleging that Leonard, who had earlier sought a divorce, failed to appear after being served court papers.

According to her, he also “missed” a previous court appearance and instead sent his legal representative.

In a strongly worded post, Ovire warned that she would not tolerate further delays in the process, insisting that she was prepared to present evidence to support the claims contained in her divorce petition.

“You said you wanted a divorce, yet you didn’t show up when you were served. Please don’t avoid customary court for the second time on June 23 because I’m coming with receipts.

“Let’s get this divorce done and dusted so both of you can finally be together,” she wrote.

The actress further alleged that Leonard had been involved in a relationship with a married woman, claiming the affair predated their marriage and continued throughout their union.

She accused the actor of misleading the public about the state of their relationship and challenged previous denials attributed to him.

According to Ovire, she only became fully aware of the alleged relationship after marrying Leonard and moving into his home.

She claimed that certain patterns in his behaviour raised suspicions, prompting her to investigate further.

She alleged that her estranged husband frequently met the woman at hotels and private apartments, adding that she eventually uncovered evidence that convinced her the relationship was ongoing.

The actress also accused Leonard of attempting to dismiss her allegations through media channels, claiming that he had relied on bloggers and public narratives to portray her claims as false.

However, Ovire maintained that the details contained in her divorce petition were supported by evidence and suggested that what she had discovered represented only a fraction of what had transpired during the marriage.

She further alleged that when Leonard received the divorce documents and reviewed the contents of the petition, he chose not to personally appear before the court despite understanding the seriousness of the allegations.

The public nature of the dispute has generated significant reactions on social media, with fans and followers weighing in on the allegations and the collapse of what was once regarded as one of Nollywood’s admired celebrity marriages.

Neither Leonard nor his representatives had publicly responded to Ovire’s latest accusations as of the time of filing this report.

“I’m not going to keep quiet or keep waiting endlessly. You said you wanted a divorce, yet when you were served, you didn’t show up.

“Don’t avoid customary court for the second time on June 23. I’m coming with receipts, and this matter must be concluded properly,” she said.

She added:“I want this divorce done and dusted so that everyone can finally move on.”
