Oyo Moves Fast: Kidnap Hideout Demolished 48 Hours After Adelabu Family Rescue

In a swift response following the rescue of ex-Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu’s sister and her twin boys, the Oyo State Government has demolished a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Ibadan outskirts.

The three-bedroom bungalow, located in the Lako community along Aiyegun–Anaye Road, was leveled on Monday by the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation under police escort.

State authorities confirmed the property was uncovered during investigations into the June 3, 2026, abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twins, Peter and Paul, who were snatched from Elewura, Challenge of the city.

The government said the action forms part of its efforts to address kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state.

It added that the demolition reflects its commitment to combating insecurity and disrupting criminal operations.

The state government also reiterated its resolve to ensure that persons found culpable of criminal activities, as well as properties used in the commission of crimes are identified and dealt with in accordance with the law.
