The Nigeria Police Force says it has secured the release of Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following a late-night operation on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Persecondnews recalls that the victims – relatives of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu – were abducted on the morning of June 3, 2026, while on their way to drop the children at school.

Police sources said pressure mounted on the suspects through coordinated tracking efforts, which eventually forced a confrontation and led to the release of the captives.

During the operation, officers engaged the suspected kidnappers in a gun duel, leading to the neutralisation of two-member gang and the recovery of firearms.

The source added that search operations are ongoing to track down fleeing members of the kidnapping network, some of whom are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.
