Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has officially secured the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential ticket for the 2027 general election.
He was presented with the party’s flag and Certificate of Return by APM National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, during a primary election and unveiling ceremony at the Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall in Ibadan.
The decision was solidified through a resounding voice vote by party delegates after Dantalle openly consulted all 36 state chairmen on the floor.
Dantalle attributed the unanimous support to Makinde’s proven track record in Oyo State, framing his candidacy as the launch of the “Reset Nigerian Movement.”
He noted that Makinde’s emergence symbolizes a powerful new alliance between the PDP and the APM, driven by citizens eager for a more inclusive nation. Handing over the flag,
Dantalle described the two-term governor as a “seasoned political warrior” capable of reversing the country’s economic decline and steering Nigeria toward equity, dignity, and prosperity.
