Ahead of the 2027 general elections, former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has formally submitted his nomination form at the national secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja.

The move marks a key step in his bid for the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 presidential poll.

The development comes amid growing political consultations and realignments among opposition figures seeking to build a stronger coalition ahead of the next election cycle.

Atiku, who previously contested the presidency under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), revealed the submission on his official X page on Thursday.

He described the move as part of a renewed national movement aimed at restoring economic stability and public confidence in governance.

“The march to restore prosperity and better days to our beloved nation took a firm and decisive step forward today at the National Secretariat of our great party, the African Democratic Congress, ”he said.

The former Vice President noted that the initiative extends beyond partisan politics and represents a broader mission for national renewal.

“This is more than a political journey; it is a national movement rooted in hope, renewal, and the collective resolve to save Nigeria from despair.” he emphasized.

He also called on Nigerians across all divides to support the movement ahead of 2027.

“I call on all Nigerians, regardless of region, faith, or background, to join us in this noble cause. Together, we will restore the promise of our nation and bring good times back again.” he stated.

The submission of nomination form attracted party officials, supporters, and stakeholders to the ADC secretariat, signalling early momentum within the party as preparations gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
