Just In: APC Clinches Fifth Seat as Candidate Shekwolo Secures Kuje Chairmanship

Danjuma Shekwolo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Kuje Area Council chairmanship seat in Saturday’s Federal Capital Territory polls, bringing the total number of area councils cleared by the party to five.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Returning Officer Prof. Nkiruka Odoh, announced the results on Sunday at the commission’s office in Kuje.

Odoh said Shekwolo secured a total of 17, 269 votes to emerge victorious in the poll held on Saturday.

Odoh said, “I am the returning officer for the 2026 FCT Area Council, Kuje chairmanship election held on Feb. 21, 2026.

“That Danjuma Shekwolo, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected”.

She disclosed that the PDP polled 15, 824 votes to place second, while All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Abdulahi Danladi, garnered 4,305 votes to finish third.
