Exclusive: The Gap is Huge: One Super Eagles Player Can Pay Mozambique’s Bonus – Efoghe

Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe has downplayed the significance of the win bonus promised to Mozambique’s national team by their President, Daniel Francisco Chapo.

In an exclusive interview with Persecondnews from Fez, Efoghe noted that the financial incentives offered to the Mozambicans are negligible compared to the earning power of Nigeria’s stars, stating that a single Super Eagles player could easily cover the amount offered.

This comes after President Chapo congratulated his team on reaching the Round of 16, announcing a special bonus for a victory over Nigeria.

Praising the Mambas’ “courage, discipline, and determination,” Chapo described their progress as an unprecedented achievement that has filled the nation with pride.

While he reaffirmed his country’s full support for the team, the Super Eagles remain confident despite lingering injury concerns surrounding debutant Ryan Alebiosu and forward Cyriel Dessers.

Alebiosu’s injury is healing well, and he’ll be joining the full team training soon, according to Super Eagles media officer.

He noted that the deep cut on his right leg is on the mend, raising hopes he’ll be back in action soon.

As for Cyriel Dessers, his thigh problem is easing off, and he is expected to recover soon.

“Victor Osimhen was excused from yesterday’s training for recovery process. He is not injured… he’s sharp and fit,” Efoghe said, debunking rumours surrounding Osimhen’s fitness.

Osimhen showcased his skills by scoring two goals in training.

Persecondnews reports that the Super Eagles players are confident in their abilities and are not intimidated by Mozambique’s bonus incentive.

“The team is fully focused on the next stage,” Efoghe said, adding that the coach had a meeting with the team to reshape their mindset.

The Super Eagles are determined to win the AFCON and make Nigerians happy, he said.

“The team is aware that this is the only way to make Nigerians happy, winning this competition would mean a lot to the players and to this crop of players,” Efoghe told Persecondnews.
