The Kano State House of Assembly was plunged into mourning on Wednesday following the sudden deaths of two lawmakers within just one hour of each other.
The deceased have been identified as Aminu Sa’ad, representing Ungogo Constituency, and Sarki Aliyu Daneji of the Kano Municipal Constituency.
The news of Sa’ad’s passing broke first, followed shortly by confirmation of Daneji’s death.
Sanusi Bature, spokesperson to Governor Abba Yusuf, confirmed the tragic sequence of events via his verified Facebook page, noting that Daneji passed away barely an hour after his colleague.
The post reads: “From Allah we come, and to Him we shall return.
“Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, member representing Kano Municipal at Kano State House of Assembly, died today, an hour after the death of his counterpart.”
