Nigerian music legend 2Face Idibia has finally broken his silence on the swirling controversies surrounding his marriage, declaring that he is done with entertaining the public with his personal life and is now fully refocusing on his music.

In what appeared to be a subtle yet strategic move to calm the storm, 2Face made the statement during the Homecoming Concert of his long-time friend and former Plantashun Boiz member, Faze.

The singer, who mounted the stage to a loud ovation, took a brief pause before addressing the crowd on the issues that have dominated social media conversations in recent days.

Recalling recent events, 2Face noted that he and his wife, Natasha, have been the subject of intense public scrutiny, with his marital issues overshadowing his artistic contributions.

According to him, the buzz around his private life has become “the latest entertainment for Nigerians,” shifting attention away from the very craft that made him a household name.

The music icon described the situation as distracting and unnecessary, stressing that the public fascination with marital drama often drowns out the hard work artistes put into their careers.

Speaking candidly, he admitted that the past few days have been overwhelming, with narratives about his marriage dominating headlines, gossip blogs, and online debates.

But on stage at Faze’s Homecoming Concert, 2Face made it clear that he intends to draw a line, insisting that it is time for the music to take centre stage once again.

He explained that while he understands that fame comes with scrutiny, he has no intention of letting personal issues overshadow his work or derail his long-standing reputation in the industry.

2Face also praised Faze for remaining consistent and focused, describing the concert as a reminder of why artists should prioritise their craft above all distractions.

The crowd, largely sympathetic, cheered as he vowed to return to the classic form that earned him respect across Africa and beyond.

He then proceeded to deliver a powerful performance, almost symbolic of his renewed commitment to reclaiming the narrative from scandal-driven chatter.

As the curtains fell, the prevailing sentiment was that 2Face had set the stage for a fresh narrative.

It was seen as the start of a chapter where creative output finally eclipses sensationalism, allowing the music to reclaim its place as the primary headline.
