Former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has threatened legal action against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), alleging that the party prevented him from purchasing the nomination form to contest for the position of National Chairman.

Lamido arrived at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday morning, October 27, but was reportedly blocked from obtaining the form.

He sharply criticized the action, calling the development “unacceptable and undemocratic.”

Speaking to journalists outside the party headquarters, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed disappointment over the incident and vowed to seek redress in court if he was not allowed to participate in the forthcoming National Convention scheduled for November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“I came here to buy the form for the chairmanship position, but I was denied. This is not the democracy our party stands for,” Lamido said.

“If this continues, I will have no choice but to approach the court for justice.”

Persecondnews recalls that Lamido had earlier declared his intention to contest the position in a post on his verified Facebook page, announcing that he would visit Wadata Plaza on Monday morning to obtain the nomination form.

His move comes amid growing tension within the PDP ahead of the national convention, where new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) are expected to be elected.
