I Don’t Want to Remain a Sugar Mama, Ready to Be a Second Wife – Tiwa Savage

Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has sparked fresh conversations online after revealing that she is open to marriage again, even if it means becoming a second wife.

Speaking on the American podcast Lip Service, which has been trending since Friday, the award-winning singer admitted that she has reached a stage where most of her potential suitors are either older or already married.

“I’m like a sugar mama, but I don’t want to be,” she confessed.

“If I meet somebody who can really marry me, they are either in their 50s or already married. So, I don’t know… maybe I can be a second wife. I think so. I could be a second wife.”

Tiwa, who shares a son with her ex-husband and former manager Tunji Balogun (TBillz), made it clear that her desire for companionship outweighs the societal labels that come with being a second wife.

According to her, she values peace and respect above all, and would never be a troublesome co-wife.

“I think I can get along with the first wife, and she’s going to love me because I’m not going to be troublesome. I’ll be on tour most of the time.

“So I’m not really going to stress you. I’m very respectful, I know you’re the first wife and I’d accord you that respect,” she said.

Her confession, “I don’t want to remain a sugar mama,” has since set social media abuzz, stirring mixed reactions among fans.

While some praise her honesty and maturity, others question her willingness to embrace polygamy in pursuit of love.
