Rev. Uma Ukpai, an international evangelist and the founder and president of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, has passed on.

Aged 80 years, the influential cleric reportedly died in Lagos on Monday morning.

The news of Ukpai’s alleged demise is currently making the rounds on social media.

Prophet Joel Ogebe posted a cryptic message on X, stating: “A giant has gone to be with the Lord. My father, my father, the chariot of Israel. Heaven rejoices. Uyo.”

Although Ogebe did not mention any names, the post quickly sparked reactions online, with some users linking it to Rev. Ukpai, the founder and president of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, a prominent non-denominational ministry based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Shortly after, a Christian platform, Church Gist, also shared a message on Facebook reporting that the revered cleric had passed on. The post read:

“A GENERAL TAKES A BOW! EVANGELIST UMA UKPAI HAS GONE TO BE WITH THE LORD. REST IN POWER, SIR.”

No official statement or confirmation has been issued by his family or the ministry.
