Breaking: Embattled Science and Technology Minister Resigns

Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, has resigned following some allegations bordering on certificate forgery against him.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted his resignation with immediate effect, according to a terse statement by
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy on Tuesday evening.

President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023.

He resigned today in a letter thanking the President for allowing him to serve Nigeria.

Nnaji said he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents.

Tinubu thanked him for his service and wished him well in future endeavours.

Persecondnews reported that the minister had been embroiled in the forgery of Bachelor of Science degree and the NYSC certificates as unearthed by Premium Times, a digital news platform.
