Super Falcons forward Gift Monday has etched her name in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) record books with the quickest hat-trick in the league’s history.

Monday achieved this feat in Washington Spirit’s 4-0 thrashing of Houston Dash at Audi Field, scoring three goals within the opening 36 minutes of the game.

The 23-year-old Nigerian striker opened the scoring for Washington Spirit in the 18th minute with a smart finish from a tight angle.

She doubled the lead three minutes later with a well-taken header following Croix Bethune’s superb delivery.

Monday completed her hat-trick in the 36th minute, sealing a convincing win for her team.

This impressive victory marked the second hat-trick in Washington Spirit’s history, following Crystal Dunn’s feat in 2015 against the same opponents, Houston Dash.

Monday’s performance was instrumental in her team’s dominant display, which ultimately led to a 4-0 win.

Despite the heavy defeat, Houston Dash secured a playoff berth, showcasing the team’s resilience and determination.

The match highlighted the competitive nature of the NWSL, where teams fight hard to secure spots in the postseason.

Monday’s historic hat-trick will undoubtedly be remembered as a highlight of the season.
